Dwight Amos Bremmer was born December 1, 1948 in Coldwater Mississippi to Amos and Rosie Lee Bremmer. He was the 3rd child of eight children. He attended Woodstock Elementary and High Schools in Shelby County where he was a straight A student. He later moved to Fayette County in 1968 where he was inducted into the United States Army.

Army Specialist Four Dwight Amos Bremmer was assigned to the 11th AVN GROUP, 1ST AVIATION BDE, USARV, MOS 71P20; Flight Operations Coordinator.

Joint Personnel Accountability Command (JPAC) has SP4 Bremmer as Missing in Action (MIA). His last known location was flying in a U21A over South Vietnam, December 14, 1971. LAT: 161835N LONG: 1081635S.

He is currently memorialized on Wall Panel W2, Line 87 of the Vietnam War Memorial, Washington D.C.
